I was reading this on Facebook and the image of your arm stopped me in my tracks, and so I had to click on the article. You see, my arms look exactly the same, and it's a constant reminder that I've carried with me since the age of 18 as well. It is a reminder, like you, of where I've come from, what I could have succumbed to, and what God has delivered me from. I like to say that, “The Pain Always Speaks” and those scars are the voice of the silent horror that I lived in for so many years. Thank you for reminding us that we all carry scars from our past, some of us carry them on the outside, and some of us carry them on the inside. Your story is so encouraging because you are demonstrating how personal pain can become a way to connect with others, and can shine light into our common darkness. You’ve shown that no matter how powerless and isolated we feel, there is always hope, and we are never, never, never alone. If we are willing to risk revealing our secrets, then shame has no hold on us, and the door of healing can be opened, and we then can become free to live the life that we were meant to live!
- May the Lord bless you abundantly for all of your sacrifice and service to others, Julia McVaugh Stone
Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11114781527271678387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1320437274671816713.post-46289874496409554892015-07-22T20:33:55.394-04:002015-07-22T20:33:55.394-04:00Thank you for sharing your story, Maggie!
