The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Advocacy Alliance is the nonpartisan voice of the 2.5 million breast cancer survivors and the people who love them. Our mission is to translate Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever into action at all levels of government to discover and deliver the cures. Each year, Komen has a “Lobby Day” in Washington, DC. Representatives from Affiliates around the country wear pink and descend on the nation’s capital to meet with their states’ Members of Congress.
This year, our focus was on improving access to screening, especially for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, enabling innovations in screening technology, delivering on the promise of health care reform (protections for pre-existing conditions, out-of-pocket expenses, patient navigation, clinical trials and breast health education for young women.
Grab your marching boots and join us in Uptown Charlotte on Saturday, October 2, 2010 as we march in honor and memory of so many amazing women who have touched our lives!
