Highwood Pumpkin Fest
Let the carving begin!
This weekend was the 4th annual Highwood Pumpkin Festival. Perhaps you have even seen it on HGTV’s show “Pumpkin Wars.” There are literally thousands of pumpkins carved and lined up on scaffolding over the three-day event. The festival hosts several events and helps benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancers.
Pumpkins for as far the eye can see.
And each year spectators take a stab at the Guinness books of World Record for most pumpkins carved and lit at once. It was a success (for a fourth straight year) with more than 28-thousand pumpkins on display. We carved a few to add to the substantial wall of jack-o-lanterns. Pictures won’t do it justice. They look pretty incredible once they are lit up after dusk. Congratulations to Highwood for keeping the record and for helping St. Baldrick’s!
Be the Change!
