Polar Bites
Who doesn’t have special memories of childhood from spending time at the zoo? Seeing those animals we saw in books and movies in person was such a thrill! We in Buffalo cherish our zoo so that generations to come can and will enjoy be able enjoy these memories with their loved ones AND ensure our animals are treated with lots of love and care.
This year, I attended the Polar Bites fundraiser at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center to raise funds for the Buffalo Zoo. The event featured delicious local fare, silent auctions, area vendors, and some very special live animal guests: a snake, an owl, and an armadillo were a few of the friends I made!
Our pride and joy is our polar bear friend, Luna. Our community has seen Luna since her earliest days, her first steps, and beyond. The fundraiser is integral to making sure Luna has everything she needs. She is a treasure!

I was a little nervous at first, but I with Doreen’s help I cozied up to this python!
It’s impossible not to say “awe” when you see these sweet, cuddly polar bears!
