Pageant Must-Haves: Part 1

It’s no secret that pageant week can be tiring both mentally and physically. While you’re having the time of your life meeting new friends and learning all about their families and platforms, often your body begins to feel the reality of long days and little sleep. In this blog, I want to share with you two products that made a substantial difference for me during Nationals.

The first product is called Metatarsal Pads, Ball of Foot Cushion. These forefoot pads are breathable soft gel pads often used for diabetic feet, callus, blisters, and forefoot pain. I actually found this product by accident. I had ordered a box of heel pads and the Metatarsal pads came with it for free. I am so glad they did. I tried them one evening and I couldn’t believe how much they helped my feet. To be fair, it doesn’t miraculously make you feel like you’re walking in flat shoes but it definitely makes a huge difference in how long I can wear high heels.

The metatarsal pads are made of durable, high quality, medical-grade gel that is enriched with Vitamin E to soothe and moisturize your skin. They can be reused and are easy to clean with water and soap. They are approximately $11.99 on Amazon for a pack of 6 cushions. The next product is one that the beautiful Melissa Pocza (Mrs. International 2017) wrote about in one of her blogs last year. They are called Lobe Wonder or Lobe Miracle. They are undetectable, hypoallergenic clear patches that are applied to the back of the ear lobe. When pierced by an earring, the patch bears a major part of the earring weight, relieving the ear lobe of the pressure. They are light and flexible and allow women with torn piercings to wear earrings at the top of the holes by supporting the weight from behind the lobes.

As you can imagine, pageant week means countless hours in beautiful and often heavy earrings. If you’re like me, your ears get very sensitive after a day or so of wearing big earrings. True to what they claim, the Lobe Miracle patches worked wonders for helping to alleviate that pain. I wore them every day at Mrs. International last year and I never had sore ears. A box of 60 patches costs approximately $8.00-$12.00. Here is the link to two different kinds on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074WZVF78?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_yo_pop_mb_pd_t2

I hope these tips help you alleviate some pain as you're preparing for your next pageant.
