A Few Tips on How to Stay Fashionably Organized for Nationals

A way to relieve stress is to be prepared and organized, even when it comes to wardrobe. Especially when it comes to wardrobe! In your official welcome packets you will receive your 2018 Official Handbook. That will be your “Go-To” for planning, packing, and during nationals week! Make sure to bring it with you! Now that you have your handbook you can start planning your outfits around the activities posted. You can expect to change at least TWICE a day.

Once you have your wardrobe picked and planned for specific events and days, you can start gathering accessories and thinking of looks to complement each outfit. Having all of this planned prior avoids stress, self-doubt, and saves you allot of time!

Now that you have all your wardrobe and accessories together and designated here are a few tips on how to stay fashionably organized for nationals:

*Pack or ship an extra, easy assembly, clothing rack. They are very affordable online and you can even ship straight to the hotel. If you have a roommate this helps in closet space and keeping your things together and separate. I even shipped extra flat hangers because I knew the hotel would be limited with all the contestants request for extras. You can even use one for your gowns if your roomie brings one too!

*Keep your designated outfits together and your “extra” outfits to the side and out of the way. Organize by day. You can even tag them. I did. That way if hair and make-up needed to pull one for you- they know which. Trust me, they’ll be times your coming from make up late and you’ll be happy all you have to do is pull a hanger and everything is there!

*Put the shoes under each outfit at the bottom of the rack, then you have all you need together.

*Place your accessories for each outfit in a sandwich baggies and hook it over the hanger. Then you have everything you need on one hanger and if you’re in a hurry can leave with the bag once your dressed if need be.

*Place your undergarments for each outfit in a gallon ziplock and hang from each hanger.

*Have your bag packed at all times. A rehearsal bag and a clutch!

*I kept an empty suitcase in the closet and when I was done with an outfit and its accessories it went straight in the “Go Home” suitcase.

*Every night unpack your Bag and make sure it’s ready to go for the next morning.

These are just a few tips that will save you A TON of time and stress! Staying organized and prepared will help you enjoy your time more, be more relaxed, and focus on what you really need to be focused on. Hope these tips may help you stay fashionably organized in Charleston!
