“Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” -1 Peter 3:3-4 (NLT)

Hairstyles change, jewelry is costly, and fashions differ. Yet magazines proclaim that these are the components needed to lead a “good and worthy” life. But the claims they make are not temporary, because every day a new style is added and skews the reader’s mind as to what is truly beautiful. Reality is, what God has created on the inside is the most beautiful.

At my church, Christ Fellowship, the women’s ministry made it our mission to show women that magazine articles and claims many change, but God’s Word is constant. It is an honor and a blessing to be on such a panel with empowering, incredible women that have teamed together to show the world that we’re not perfect, but our God is. Each woman on the panel was assigned a certain topic to cover from our magazine, Clarity.

Along with former Indianapolis Colts cheerleader (who, by the way, cheered at the Super Bowl!), Lauren Hollowell, we covered the topic of Divas, Villains, and Prima Donnas. We were able to speak out on the adversity we have faced and helped other young girls and women overcome the drama.

The night was filled with fellowship and friendship. It was truly an honor to be on the panel and be a light for God.
