Chicks, Cars and Cupcakes

There is almost nothing better than a day spent with girlfriends and cupcakes, while learning something new. That’s what took place in Gurnee this weekend during the annual Chicks, Cars and Cupcakes event.

We women have enormous purchasing power. However, often times we may not have all the information we need while making bigger purchases such as when buying a car. Be it working with a dealer or securing a decent loan; knowing the right questions to ask can save someone from a lemon of a deal.

And so began the idea of Chick, Cupcakes and Cars. Grab a cupcake, see some of the latest fall fashions and get some Cliff Notes on car buying. Jody DeVere, the CEO of AskPatty.com, along with other female automotive experts gave insight to the audience on what to know before you go shopping for a car.

The women’s automotive event also benefits the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

So of course I was happy to help out in honor of family, friends, sister queens and all of those who have been and are still affected by breast cancer. It was also a time to catch up Miss Teen Illinois International 2013, Megan Reisner and a few former Illinois International title holders including the Illinois International director.
