New Jersey – American Heart Association

The American Heart Association continues to carve its own little corner in my heart. I am consistently both touched and impressed by the volunteer culture they have built. Specifically, they celebrate contributions of any size because when those “small” donations add up, they can have a major effect – say, saving over 627,000 women’s lives over the last 10 years for the New Jersey AHA!

The list of credentials that that New Jersey American Heart Association boasts is incredibly impressive. They have been #1 in the country for the past three years for registrants and donations for Wear Red Day. In 2013 alone, they registered over 2,200 sites and raised $464,188. The awareness and funds go to help save women’s lives from heart disease and stroke. Additionally, they paint the state red! They were also #1 in 2013 for landmarks and properties that “glow red”.

To commemorate and acknowledge all the parties that make this possible they host a celebration for volunteer leaders, survivors, passion volunteers, sponsors, and the “best of the best” Wear Red Day teams. This year I attended the event along with some other fabulous International Titleholders. We had the gratifying task of welcoming and greeting the guests as well as escorting the award recipients from the stage area to the photographer station.

Congratulations to all recipients! Their contributions are certainly cause for celebration!

Seek Happiness,
