Songs for Body Image

I’ve always had a special connection to music. Driving with the windows down, music blaring, and shades on is one of my favorite things in the entire world. Very seldom do I turn on the radio, but I love plugging in my iPod or putting in a mixed CD.

So often in today’s world, the music is filled with negativity or inappropriate subject matter. When we start being intentional with our choices, we are able to use music to lift us up and take us mentally and emotionally to a good place. Music allows me to get out of my own head and cast my eyes on something that is positive and true. As someone who has struggled with a mental illness, I have to guard my heart and mind wherever I am so that I can stay in recovery. However, even if you haven’t struggled with a mental illness but you’ve battled body image… we know that the songs and media can portray one certain body time as being attractive.

You have been created with a unique purpose and design. There is no flaw in you. This truth must be spoken over our life and one way to do that is through songs that radiate body positivity and loving yourself. Below I’ve created a playlist of some of my favorite songs that will do just that. I hope they inspire, empower, and encourage you!
