Miss Teen Bahamas International

What a treat it was to spend an evening with the absolutely gorgeous and sweet Vanessa Leach, Miss Teen Bahamas International 2012! On Sunday, October 28th, Vanessa was kind enough to join me at the Atlantis for photos with some friends and staff, then on to dinner at the unbelievable Dune Restaurant located just minutes away at the timeless Ocean Club.

As we were being lead to our ocean view table, I was certain to inform the hostess that she was seating her very own Miss Teen Bahamas International, which of course was passed on to Henry, our server…who in turn serenaded Vanessa as he presented her with a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. The large white plate was covered with chocolate decoration including a message of “Congratulations Vanessa” and topped off with a burning candle. How very fun to see Vanessa honored for her courage to challenge her self-described naturally shy personality and become the beautiful and articulate titleholder she is today!

In fact, Vanessa did a beautiful job mingling with the group of young men dining near us, who could not help but notice the activity at our table. They requested photos with us, and we were happy oblige.

For the “foodies” out there, we shared a delicious salad with a goat cheese fondue served over endive with candied pecans and red pear vinaigrette, a simply grilled lobster tail with garlic mash potatoes and a side of asparagus with mushrooms…all to die for! Dessert was a tangy key lime tart, but what made it so extra special was the company that joined us…Anthony Smith, Miss Teen Bahamas International Director. It was a pleasure visiting with Tony and learning about his hopes and dreams for the International Pageant System in the Bahamas.
