Alpha Phi Red Dress Gala
I am incredibly honored and thrilled! I have been selected as the Celebrity Guest Speaker for the Alpha Phi Red Dress Gala! I will travel to Arizona State University on September 24th to speak about heart health and the importance of raising awareness among women.
I’m extremely proud to be an Alpha Phi sister (Theta Nu Chapter, Appalachian State University) and am very excited to be selected as the keynote speaker for this amazing event that celebrates Alpha Phis, community service, women, and heart health!
As you probably know by reading this blog and keeping up with the International Pageants that the Mrs. International Program promotes “Heart Health” for women by focusing on the Go Red For Women Campaign. What you may not know, however, is that the Alpha Phi International Sorority has designated Heart Health as their philanthropic core for over 50 years. What a seamless fit within these two fabulous organizations that I am so blessed to be a part of! I am very honored to help promote heart health for women both as an Alpha Phi Sister and as Mrs. International at the same time. How exciting!

More about the Alpha Phi Foundation: Each February, Alpha Phi sponsors a Cardiac Care Month to raise public awareness about cardiovascular disease, the #1 killer of women in North America. Collegiate and alumnae chapters nationwide hold events to help their communities learn more about the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease. Alpha Phi also holds a National Wear Red Day to show their support for women's heart disease awareness. In honor of National Wear Red Day, Alpha Phis wear their Alpha Phi red dress pins with pride.
Until next post, God Bless,
Shannon Devine
