Discovery Shores on Boracay Island!

The Philippines is comprised of 7,107 islands, and is home to 95 million people. If you read my previous blog, you now know that my dear friend and classmate Ms. Pinky Tobiano is an amazing individual...and her generosity is endless.

Pinky and her fabulous Juancho wanted to make certain that Joe and I experienced the beach, so the four of us flew to the island of Boracay (about an hour flight South of Manila). After landing we were met with a van ride, which led us to a boat ride, which led us to another van ride through the vibrant island villages along the shores of this gorgeous little island. Our destination was the exclusive Discovery Shores Resort!

Our visit was short, but sweet, and oh so fantastic! From the moment you arrive the staff make you feel like you are the most important people in the world; with a complimentary foot massage and wash upon entering your room, a table filled with chocolate treats, and of course pillows with Joseph and Sarah embroidered on the case.

Walking to dinner.

The seafood and pasta were fabulous!

Our day was relaxing, and the four of us took a nice long walk down the beach to enjoy dinner as the night life picked up in The District area. To top it off, we could not pass up an opportunity for a massage before bed.

To Pinky and Juancho, we send our deepest gratitude for such an unexpected treat! For any one reading this blog that may be looking for a gem of a spot to travel, this resort has been listed by Travel and Leisure among the World's Best Hotels for three years running...and I can see why! Waterfall as we had to say goodbye.

After returning to Manila, we had one final opportunity to share an afternoon tea on the veranda with Mr. Joey Antonio in his elegant and stunning home. Thank you for welcoming us into your home Joey, and for taking such good care of us as we prepared to head to our next adventure.
