10 Things You Love About Yourself

Since September was Pain Awareness Month, the U.S. Pain Foundation put together a 30 day challenge to spread awareness about chronic pain. While participating in one of the challenges I was surprised what an actual challenge it was. Here was day 20:

"Day 20: Ten things I LOVE about me! With only ten days remaining this month, it’s important to remember about self-care, self-awareness, mindfulness and being kind to ourselves. Today we ask that you be gentle to your mind, body and soul by jotting down 10 things you admire about yourself. Ten words, accomplishments and positive personality traits that describe you. Take a picture of your ten list, or comment below with your ten list! You can also share your ten list photo with our campaign on Instagram: @USPainAwarenessMonth "

In today's society young girls are faced with constant pressures. While social media can be a great thing, some girls do not realize that social media is filled with all of the highlights of people's lives, not the struggles that they face on a daily basis. Magazines, and advertisements are mainly made up of non realistic images of girls that have been edited. As a young girl it is hard not to compare yourself to others.

Some people may even find it hard to write 10 things they love about themselves. I encourage everyone to remember that you are "beautifully and wonderfully made", and nothing can change that. Let's come together, and change the way society thinks.

"Success is not measured by what you accomplish but by the opposition you have encountered and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds." -Orison Swett Marden
