Visiting Animal Shelters

One of my favorite appearances I am able to make is going to animal shelters. Animal shelters can always use help! Here is a list of easy things you can do to help out a local shelter.

1. Donating Items

Most shelters have a list of items they are in need of. Dog and cat food are always important and needed. Toys and blankets always need to be refreshed as well. I know lots of girls who make and donate blankets do the animals can have a more comfortable place to rest and play in.

2. Long Term Volunteering

If you have extra time volunteering at an animal shelter is a valuable use of your time. It takes a lot to make these shelters run as smoothly as they do. Most of them run off of donations and volunteers. It is amazing how much of an impact you can make by volunteering even one hour of your time a week!

3. Spending Time With the Animals

If you are not in a place to make a long term volunteering commitment taking a day looking and spending time with the animals can make a difference in their quality of life. Most counties or parishes have at least one or more animal shelters. I encourage you to find the one easiest for you and volunteer!

Happy Volunteering!
